Living on the River
At noon we would pull up our canoes
for lunch.
The yellow tents were colorful and
made it easier to find our way back
to camp from hikes. Since we had
24 hours of daylight, the tents
were terrible at enhancing the light
from outside. Fortunately, we
brought along masks to give us
pretend darkness at night. As on
our other Arctic trips, most people
were tired and bedded down for
ten hours each night.
Below, Alex and his kitchen with
Sam giving a lending hand.
Dinner took place outside no
matter what the weather.
Both the river with no name and the Thelon had some very spectacular canyons.
We had rain almost every day of the trip.
