Rain Shadow Kayakers
Fresh Water Bay to Salt Creek
June 1, 2009
This is one of the prettiest paddles on
the Peninsula. It is five miles one way.
There are solid cliffs the whole way.

It was a spectacular day. Little wind.
Sunshine. Swells coming into the strait
from the Pacific Ocean were moderate.
Below, we see Tongue Point come into view.
Below, rounding the sea stack at Salt Creek we land at the beach for lunch..
The hazy stuff in the pictures was
the sun evaporating water from the
beach as the tide receded.
Left, lunch on the beach.

Below, we paddle away from
the Salt Creek beach back to
Fresh Water Bay.
Left, our leader. We wish him well this
next month on his sailing venture off
the coast of Vancouver Island.
Below, looking at
Tongue Point.
Darn good paddle. Thanks Felix.
We were being watched by seals perched on mussels.
