Storm King A meeting with Gray Jays January 28, 2009
|
The hike begins at Lake Crescent (in the background). It is a steep but not very long hike.
Pretty soon we had Gray Jay's all around us. Although the Gray Jay can fluff up its dense plumage and give the
impression of large size, it is actually one of the smallest jays in the world, males weighing about 76 grams and females
only about 68 grams
The photo below of me, Elston Hill, was taken by Mark Newbold.
