Snorkeling with a 12 foot Manta Ray, Fish, and Seals.
Left. I am indebted to Roger for instructing me in
snorkeling. The pictures below were taken by me
with an inexpensive Canon in a waterproof case
designed specifically for this camera. The pictures
do not do justice to the beauty of the waters but
give you some idea of what we saw.
During one snorkel, I came
up and heard Roger yelling
Manta Ray swimming
towards you. At first I
thought this was a warning,
but then understood I was to
watch for this fish. Sure
enough, it swam by and I got
this picture. It had a width of
12 feet!

Moments later Jackie put her
waterproof camera in the
water and took the picture
below.
What probably gave the
group the most fun was
swimming with the seals. We
were let off at a beach. The
seals were fun to watch and
were very playful with each
other under water. They also
seemed to enjoy our
presence. When the last
couple swam over to the
Ponga, the seals followed
them over and seemed sad
to see us go.

Left below, Pat with seals.
After the snorkel, we did a hike that came back to the point where we had been swimming with the seals. One of the seals had
found a sand dollar and the seals were indulged in a game of sand dollar as we watched.
Just a few yards from the
sand dollar game, a large
Galapagos sea turtle raised
his head to get a better view.
